Mr. John Riggio, RA Architect |
|
My Architecture background started when I was 5 years old in the Public Schools, I was the number one academic student in the semester ending in December of my Kindergarten Class and one of three advanced students but my drawing ability was proposed to be better. My Public School class work in the drawing arts started from 5 years old to 17 years old with my grade average at 97% percent. and my Mechanical Drawing education started in 9th grade or 14 years old to 11th grade or 16 years old with my grade average at 97% percent. This lead to my induction into the National Art Honor Society in 1984, an award given only every 8 years. During those years my teachers had submitted my work in competitions and I had received awards, where my work was displayed for my drawings by the New York Telephone Company, The New York Public Library, and The New York Public School. Over those years I was asked to attend extra drawing classes in Public School and to perform extra drawings for the Public school, for example: Competitions, School Calander, Posters, New Design for Snack Area, etc. In my Senior year my IQ tests for graphical work was very high and my guidance councellor recommended I go into the Drawing field of work. In 1987, I was enrolled in the accelerated 5 year degree program, at the New York Institute of Technology at Old Westbury. During those years I received an AIA scholarship with a 3.7 average, which was renewed every year. In 1992, I Graduated "Cum Laude" with a Bachelor of Architecture, First Professional Degree. The equivalent to a six year Masters Degree. I graduated with the highest GPA in my Major for the 5 year Bachelor of Architecture Class of 1992. |
